What are the precautions and problems in using a kinematic viscometer?

Main structure

1. Clamps for capillary viscometers

It is a special device for holding capillary viscometers. It is convenient and safe.

2. Water bath

It is a φ300mm×300 mm hardness glass aquarium. Adopting thermal insulating materials outside, it can control temperature within ±0.01 ℃.

3. Test parameter calculation and display device

It is composed of SCM circuit, keyboard and LCD. You can complete all the operation using buttons. The LCD interface adopts man machine conversation interface. It is automatic, intelligent, intuitive and convenient to be operated. It has timing function, and it can select valid time range of flowing time and calculate arithmetic average value automatically. It can also preset viscometer coefficient, and calculate the viscosity after test automatically.

4. Printer

Using pin type micro-printer, it can print out the viscosity value directly after test. It is convenient and quick, and easy to save test data.

5. Temperature controller

Adopting a high precision digital temperature controller, it has characteristics of high temperature controlling precision, and digitalization display of temperature and parameters. It is intuitive and easy to preset and modify temperature parameters.

6. Illumination system

With a 220 V, energy saving lamp, it can be used to observe reading of capillary viscometers clearly.

Precautions

1. The Kinematic Viscometer does not have the stirring switch. Turn on the power supply switch, and then the stirrer will begin to work at the same time.

2. You can adjust verticality of the capillary viscometer using three small screws on the clamps.

3. The position of mercury ball should be close to the water surface in the center of the capillary viscometer when you install the thermometer.

4. You should not turn on the heater when there is no liquid in the water bath to avoid any damage to the heating components.

5. The liquid surface in the water bath should be about 10～15 mm higher than the upper section of the heater shield.

6. The PID parameters have been preset before leaving factory. Please do not adjust them unnecessarily.

7. Handle the capillary viscometer and other glassware gently to avoid any damage to them.

8. Please exhaust all the liquids in the water bath and keep the water bath and the instrument clean after test.

Note: When there is water in the bath and the ambient temperature is lower than 0 ℃, please exhaust the water in the bath to avoid any damage to the instrument caused by freezing.

Common problems and solutions

Warning: If there is any trouble appears, please cut off the power supply immediately. Then ask a professional to check and repair it. You can use it again only after the problem is solved to avoid any accidents!
